“Beauty in the Wake of the Journey” This male hooded merganser may look as though he’s resting and floating along the water, but he’s been vigorously paddling his way across the marina. The beautiful boat reflections interrupted by his wake made a huge impression on me. As I watched him add to the beautiful design, I thought, “Will others see beauty in the wake of My journey?” I keep this portrait nearby, to remind myself of the energy that we leave in our own wakes every day, and that our most simple interactions can be the most beautiful.
